89th Airlift Wing is "Excellent"

By Master Sgt. Jeff Capenos 89th Airlift Wing Public Affairs

"Excellent" is the final grade the 89th Airlift Wing received Monday following a compliance inspection by members of the Air Mobility Command Inspector General team.

This compliance inspection was the first one for the 89th AW since 2007, and included 28 inspectors looking at 25 programs with more 7,000 checklist items over a period of 3 days, resulting in zero significant or critical findings.

"Perfection is the standard and 'excellent' is the grade. I'd say that is perfection," said Col. Andrew Molnar, Air Mobility Command Inspector General team chief. "No wing I've graded, in the past year and a half, has been awarded an excellent."

In addition to receiving an excellent grade, the 89th AW also had 7 exceptional performers, 4 outstanding individuals and 4 team recognitions. In the past year the 89th AW has undergone and received high marks on three other major inspections.

"We asked you to deliver this year and you have met the challenge," said Col. Jacqueline Van Ovost, 89 Airlift Wing commander. "I'm very proud of you and this is proof of all the hard work you've done."
