779 MDG Health Service Inspection: How each of you can help

The 779th Medical Group is scheduled to undergo a Health Service Inspection May 2 through May6.

An HSI is the medical equivalent of an Operational Readiness Inspection. The HSI is a realistic validation of the medical group's capabilities and is comprised of four inspection categories:

1. In-Garrison Medical Operations
2. Expeditionary Medical Operations
3. Leadership
4. Special Missions

Within these categories are 17 areas covering more than 110 individual elements with which the 779 MDG is graded every three years.

How can Team Andrews members contribute to the success of this inspection?

1. Ensure your Physical Health Assessment and dental exam are current.

2. When you're deployed or will deploy it is important that you complete the pre-deployment assessment, the post deployment assessment and the post deployment reassessment. Early intervention is key to recovering quickly from an illness, injury or mental health issue.

3. Finally, the Self-Aid Buddy Care Program is critical to our-and ultimately your-success. The education and life saving techniques are useful in both combat and everyday life. Providing care during the golden hour of any injury dramatically increases patient survivability. If you are due, please complete the SABC training. Your SABC trainer can give you the training and guidance to complete the course.
