Transportation to and from Joint Base Andrews

If you are reading this, you are a commuter to Joint Base Andrews Naval Air Facility Washington. Leadership here is interested in your safety and in providing you with the most convenient and affordable methods of transit to your job.

Gas is not getting any cheaper. Maintenance on your private vehicle will not get any cheaper either. Personal wear and tear as you battle the costs of transportation and the hassle of driving to and from work is taxing on the person. Arriving to work alert and safe is as important to leadership as well as your safe return home. An alert employee is a productive and safe employee.

Central Maryland Regional Transit (CMRT) was contacted to provide a subscriber bus service from Southern Maryland and Northern Virginia to Joint Base Andrews. This is a demand-driven program. You, the employee, are the driver. The process is simple.

To affirm your desire to obtain bus transportation:
- Contact CMRT at Andrews.bus@cmrtransit.org and tell them you are interested in obtaining ridership to Joint Base Andrews. Provide information regarding
   - the date you would like to start service
   - pick-up time and locations (park and ride lots)
   - Arrival time at Joint Base Andrews
   - Departure times from Joint Base Andrews
- Or call CMRT at 1-800-270-9553

This link discusses how to enroll in the program. Once approved and enrolled, the requester picks-up the fare cards at:

- Joint Base Andrews, currently Bldg 1535 for the April distribution.
- Headquarters Air Force/Secretary of the Air Force personnel can continue to pick up their subsidy at their current location until they relocate for work on Joint Base Andrews.
- You must inform your subsidy coordinator of your change in work location.

Remember, this service is DEMAND DRIVEN and incumbent upon your request to CMRT.
