The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is seeking highly qualified VETERAN candidates eligible under VRA, 30 percent or more disabled veteran, and Schedule A for people with disabilities appointments to fill several positions at the GS 5-12 levels.

New Vet Center in Baltimore County

On Jan. 3, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs opened up a new Vet Center in Baltimore County at 1527 Merritt Blvd. (Danville Square Shopping Center), Dundalk, MD, 21222. Hours of operation are 8: a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (walk-ins welcome). Evening hours available by appointment only.

The Baltimore County Vet Center is part of Readjustment Counseling Services and the Department of Veteran Affairs Maryland Healthcare System. They are the people in the VA who welcome home war Veterans with honor by providing readjustment counseling in a caring manner. They understand and appreciate Veteran's war experiences while assisting them and their family members toward a successful post-war adjustment in or near their community. Services are available for Veterans of all eras.

Readjustment counseling offers a wide range of psycho-social services to eligible Veterans and their families in the effort to make a successful transition from military to civilian life. They include: individual and group counseling for Veterans and their families, family counseling for military related issues, bereavement counseling for families who experience an active duty death, military sexual trauma counseling and referral (noncombat veterans of both sexes eligible), outreach and education including PDHRA, community events, etc., substance abuse assessment and referral, employment assessment and referral, VBA benefits explanation and referral and screening and referral for medical issues including TBI, depression, etc.
