Liberty Park throws “Fall Fest” to say thanks to residents

By Staff Sgt. Misty D. Slater 11th Wing Public Affairs

The Liberty Park at Andrews's dog park was invaded by Avatars, monsters, princesses and vampires Oct. 23 during Liberty Park's free annual Fall Festival.
"The festival is a way that management and the leasing staff are able to thank the residents for patronage and choosing to make Liberty Park their home," said Greg Ramirez, Liberty Park at Andrews housing coordinator.

Besides music and food, the festival offered several different costume contests for both people and dogs, face painting, a bouncy castle, and loads of free stuff.

"Vendors consisted of both on base facilities as well as community based businesses and they donated not only their time, but food, music and prizes that were awarded for the various contests," Mr. Ramirez said.

While many parents picked up the juice box packs and applesauce packs the Andrews Commissary was giving out during the event, many of the children found the free candy a hit.

More than 500 residents came out for the event, according to Mr. Ramirez.
