“Where do I go for finance after this mission move?”

By Senior Airman Patrick McKenna 11th Wing Public Affairs

Today's mission movement from the 316th to the 11th Wing is going to affect thousands of servicemembers as well as department of defense civilians across the National Capital Region. For some, it will be a change in their command structure. For others, maybe the only change they notice is the sign outside their office. What is important to note no matter where you are assigned or what your job is, is that this mission movement has been meticulously planned to ensure it goes as smooth as possible, especially in regards to an issue that is important to all of us, our finances.

Joint Base Andrews and Joint Base Anacostia Bolling currently provide financial service support to more than 10,000 people and, while a large number, they should take comfort in knowing a vast majority of those customers in the NCR will continue to use the same finance office they were using prior to the mission move.

"For the most part, it's going to be status quo for everybody," said Capt. Joshua Cherkinsky, 11th Comptroller Squadron deputy commander. "Air Force personnel assigned to Bolling or AF personnel working elsewhere in the NCR will report to Bolling where they always have gone. They'll just be serviced by a different command once the Navy assumes authority of Joint Base Anacostia Bolling."

Here is a breakdown of how customers can determine which servicing location they report to:

1) All Air Force personnel physically working on Joint Base Anacostia Bolling will get their support from JBAB.

2) All Air Force personnel physically working on Joint Base Andrews Naval Air Facility Washington will get their support from JBANAFW.

3) All Air Force personnel physically working in the Pentagon, or Headquarters Air Force, Secretary of Air Force or organized under an AF/2 Letter physically working in the NCR, but NOT physically working on JBAB or JBANAFW, will get their support from the Pentagon operating location.

4) All Air Force personnel physically working in the NCR will be serviced by JBAB.

5) All Air Force personnel working outside the NCR - regardless if parent organization is physically located on JBAB, JBANAFW, or in the NCR - will get their support from JBANAFW.

''We are expecting to not have any mission degradation," said Lt. Col. William Martin, 11th Comptroller Squadron commander. "We have worked hard to make sure this change is going to be fairly transparent by getting the information out there so everybody understands the basics of where they need to go and how the services are going to work.''
