JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. –
The following is a list of nine infractions made by Andrews' members be-tween May and June. They received punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
1. 316th Civil Engineer Squadron - On May 12, an airman was reported driving while under the influence of alcohol. The 316th Security Forces Squadron member made contact with the member at the Four Seasons Shoppette. The member was cooperative and admitted to driving while intoxicated, which is a violation of Article 111 of the UCMJ. The punishment consisted of reduction to the grade of airman basic, forfeiture of $150 pay per month for two months, 30 days extra duty, and a reprimand.
2. 316 CES - On May 13, a senior airman posted at the fire alarm control center on Joint Base Andrews was found asleep on duty by a station captain. The senior airman was found derelict in his duties, a violation of Article 92 of the UCMJ. The senior airman received forfeitures of $500 pay per month for two months, 30 days extra duty, and a reprimand as punishment.
3. 316 CES - On April 7, a staff sergeant willfully disobeyed a lawful order from a senior non-commissioned officer by refusing to stay in his office for a meeting. The staff sergeant also committed an assault and communicated a threat towards a senior non commissioned officer when he struck the doorway in his office and lunged toward the senior non-commissioned officer multiple times as if he was going to hit him. The staff sergeant was found to have violated Article 92, 128, and 134 of the UCMJ, and received a suspended reduction to senior airman, forfeiture of $1,146 in pay, and a reprimand as punishment.
4. 89th Communication Squadron - Between October 2009 and on or about May 2010 a married airman first class committed adultery with another married senior airman. The airman first class was selected for promotion to senior airman, below-the-zone, prior to being charged with adultery. As a result of this violation of Article 134 of the UCMJ, the airman first class was punished through a suspended reduction to airman, loss of his promotion below the zone to senior airman, forfeiture of $811 pay per month for two months, 30 days extra duty, and a reprimand.
5. 89 CS - Between October 2009 and May 2010 a married senior airman committed adultery with another airman first class from the same unit. During the course of the affair the senior airman became pregnant. This adulterous affair was in direct violation of Article 134 of the UCMJ. As a result the senior airman was punished with a suspended reduction to airman first class, forfeiture of $961 pay per month for two months, 30 days extra duty, and a reprimand.
6. 316 SFS - On March 23, an airman was witnessed drinking under the legal age. As a result of an investigation, it was found that this airman and other airmen had gone to a bar in College Park that was notorious for allowing minors to drink. It was also found that this group of airmen went to the bar multiple times in order to drink under the legal age. This airman's actions violated Article 92 of the UCMJ. The airman was punished by having to forfeit $378 pay, restriction to Andrews for 14 days, and a reprimand.
7. 316th Comptroller Squadron - On June 4, an airman first class forged the signature of a senior airman on a Travel Lodging Expense Certification Statement. The airman first class subsequently made two false official statements regarding the incident. The airman first class' actions violated Articles 91 and 107 of the UCMJ. The airman first class received as punishment a reduction in grade to airman, 21 days extra duty and a reprimand.
8. 316 CPTS - Between September and December 2009, a master sergeant made multiple unauthorized personal charges on their government travel card. In addition to wrongful use of a GTC, the master sergeant was more than 90 days delinquent in paying the GTC bill. The master sergeant's actions violated Article 91 of the UCMJ. The master sergeant received a reduction to the grade of technical sergeant and a reprimand as punishment.
9. 7th Field Investigation Squadron - On Feb. 26, a captain was pulled over by local law enforcement in Waldorf, Md., on an outstanding warrant. The officer demanded the captain exit the vehicle. The captain refused to exit the vehicle and had to be forcibly removed. The captain violated Article 133 of the UCMJ, conduct unbecoming an officer. For this offense, the captain received forfeitures of $1500 pay per month for two months of which $500 was suspended, and a reprimand.
