A memorial service for Technical Sgt. Daniel Izon will be held Thursday, Aug. 26 at 3 p.m. at Chapel 2 on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling.
Sergeant Izon, a native of Waialua, Hawaii, was an aerospace medical services technician with the 579th Medical Operations Squadron. He was found dead this past weekend at his off-base apartment and the cause of death has been deemed a heart attack. The 579th Medical Group (579th MDG), located on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling is a subordinate unit of the 79th Medical Wing on Joint Base Andrews.
"Dan was a warm, caring, humble man who gave 100 percent to the Medical Group," Col. Roseanne Warner, 579th MDG commander, said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with Sergeant Izon's family and friends who have been affected by this tragic event."
The flag at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling will be flown at half-staff Aug. 26.
