JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. –
Graphics support is available to Joint Team Andrews personnel via a support agreement in place with the 11th Wing public affairs office at Bolling Air Force Base.
The Graphic Arts Division of the public affairs office provides professional creation and design for illustrations, charts, graphics, diagrams, posters, displays, exhibits and signs to support managerial, operational, training, educational and administrative base-level requirements.
"We are happy to support Andrews customers at the Bolling base multimedia center," said Marilyn Holliday, 11 WG public affairs director. "As long as the customer assumes responsibility for getting the request to, and picking up the order from, our graphics shop, our graphics artists will assist in every way possible."
The multimedia center supports all installation, base, facility, and site organization activities at Bolling and has been supporting Andrews' multimedia requests since the 316th Wing lost its final military graphic artist earlier in the year.
Active Duty military graphics personnel positions were officially deleted in 2007, according to a message signed the same year by Brig. Gen. Michelle Johnson, former secretary of the Air Force office of Public Affairs director. Civilian authorizations remained, but have been difficult to keep filled.
The remaining graphic artists at Bolling will continue to accept work orders and prioritize accordingly. If work order request guidelines cannot be met by the graphic artist, units will be responsible to find alternate sources of support such as local businesses and memorandums of agreement with other services.
"We encourage customers to continue to come to us with their graphic support needs," said Ms. Holliday. "Customers will continue to receive superior customer service."
