Upcoming changes at MPF allow easier to access records

Senior Master Sgt. Michelle Blackston, 316th Mission Support Squadron Military Personnel Flight Superintendent, is eager to share good news with Team Andrews members. 

Personnel records are just about ready to be available to without leaving the office with just a few clicks of your mouse. 

"Every Air Force base is going through the same transition of changing the old personnel folders, called the Unit Personnel Record Group, to the new Automated Record System system," said Sergeant Blackston. "ARMS is a system that allows each individual member to go in and pull up their own personnel records. You'll go into the Air Force Personnel Center secure site, click on ARMS and boom! It'll be readily available at your fingertips." 

Contacting AFPC or the MPF is recommended, should airmen encounter issues accessing their electronic records. 

"Military members will now be able to print their evaluations, EPRs, OPRs, and even reenlistment documents from their office computers," she said. "Most of the things that were in the members folder at the MPF will now be available online. Once the system is in place, you can sit at your desk and print up what is needed, saving many man-hours, versus the five minutes it takes to drive to the MPF, then sit and wait to be serviced."
Once the files have been converted to electronic files at the AFPC, there will not be any hardcopies available at the MPF. 

"Customers will still be able to get their identifications cards and common access cards at the MPF," said the superintendent. "The MPF will still process awards and decorations, as well. 

The new system will be implemented by the end of March to mid-April. 

"It's going to take some time for AFPC to scan in all the documents into ARMS, but once it's up and running it'll be so convenient," she said. "That's what we are here for - to serve our customers."
