Andrews Exchange moves into high gear with Holiday sales

By Lt. Col. Catherine Reardon 316th Wing Public Affairs chief

With Thanksgiving in the rear view mirror, the Andrews Exchange is gearing up for several weeks of big sales and savings. All are designed to give military families one-stop shopping during this busy time of year.

"The holiday deals will kick into high gear beginning today with some great savings," said Marc Floyd, general manager of the Andrews/Bolling Consolidated Exchange. "Military Families can take $500 off a 47-inch Sabre electronics LCD HDTV or $150 off the 32-inch model. There are also specials on educational toys and games, a wide range of small appliances, and a vast selection of jewelry and fragrances," said Mr. Floyd.

Santa will be taking time from his busy schedule to visit Toyland at Home Traditions from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday and again on Dec. 22.

The 'race to the finish line' will continue with last minute gift ideas during the white knuckle days leading up to the holidays.

From Dec. 21 to 24 customers will get 45 percent off a Sound Pod digital alarm clock for iPods priced at $59.99 or $40 off a TomTom One XL GPS unit. For those shopping for new HDTVs or DVDs and accessories, the BX will also offer 55-80 percent off select DVDs, as well as 10 percent off all currently marked down TVs, DVD players and portable DVD units. Finally, the Fujifilm FinePix camera will be going fast marked down $30 to $149 with a $10 gift card included with purchase.

"Our biggest event, however, is our 'Shop Til You Drop Sale' at the Andrews BX beginning at 9 a.m. on December 21 and running around the clock until 9 p.m. on December 22," said Mr. Floyd. "We will literally have savings and sales going on around the clock for 36 hours."

"If, despite all of these specials, sales and savings a better deal is found elsewhere, AAFES will ensure that authorized customers always get the best price and save with the 'We'll Match It!' program," said Mr. Floyd.

Military customers who see a price differential of less than $10 can tell the cashier who will match it on the spot. For price differences greater than $10, customers need only to bring a current local competitor's ad to receive the reduced price. In either case, the competitor's item must be identical to the item in the AAFES store.
