ANDREWS AIR FORCE BASE, Md. –
The Andrews Enlisted and Officers' Spouses' Clubs are holding membership drives during the first two weeks of August.
The ESC has exciting plans scheduled for September and October. The September event will be a trip to New York City. In October, ESC members plan to go to the Bay Festival.
The AOSC has a Sundae! Sunday Ice Cream Social planned for 7 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Atlanta park located near the intersection of Atlanta and Boston Rd. in the base housing area. The Aug. 14 General Meeting will feature a Welcome Back Bash for AOSC members and spouses who want to see what AOSC has to offer. AOSC's September theme is "Arts in the Park," and is a wine and cheese evening event at The Courses at Andrews.
Spouses can bring their children to ESC events, said Nikki Randolph, ESC president and wife of Tech. Sgt. Richard Randolph, 744th Communications Squadron. The AOSC is arranging for childcare during their meetings at the Chapel 3 facility. Babysitting will be provided by members of the Andrews homeschool community on a donation basis.
Mrs. Randolph said spouses should join the ESC "because 'Every Spouse Counts!' It's an opportunity to build lifelong friendships, be in the loop of community events, and be first responders when our enlisted families need our help."
Lenae Brewer, AOSC Membership chair and wife of 2nd Lt. David Brewer, 316th Logistics Readiness Squadron Logistics Readiness officer, added "I joined the AOSC to meet new friends and help make a difference in the greater Andrews community."
The ESC meets the third Saturday of every month at 11:00 a.m. at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. The AOSC meets the second Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m., August through May, at The Club at Andrews, unless otherwise noted.
Interested spouses can sign up for membership at one of several ESC/AOSC membership drives to be held Saturday, at the Commissary and BX from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the Commissary and Base Exchange from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Reel Time Theater starting at 5:30 p.m. and Aug. 11 at the Commissary and BX from 10 to 2:00 p.m.
