316 SVS to hold food tasting board, vendor review

By Airman 1st Class Andrew Polvino editor

The 316th Services Squadron has scheduled a menu review board and vendor food show 3 p.m., Aug. 3, at the Freedom Hall Dining Facility.

The purpose of the food tasting board is to receive feedback from the authorized patrons of the dining facilities on what is good, bad and what can be improved in the services rendered, quality, quantity, taste and types of food provided.

"We try to have a quarterly menu review board," said Staff Sgt. Becky Wolf, 316th Services Squadron Food Services NCO. "We hold menu review boards every so often to get customer opinion on our menu items. Vendor food shows are a way to get customer feedback on new items vendors offer."

The services provided at The Club at Andrews, The Sports Page, The Courses at Andrews cafeteria, the Bowling Center Cafè 300, the Freedom Hall, Liberty Hall and the Malcolm Grow Medical Center dining facilities, which are all managed by the 316 SVS, will be assessed.

Time, cost, quantity and location will be some of the discussion factors. Both positives and negatives of each will be discussed.

"We're expecting 10 to 15 vendors, who will bring at least one different item each," she said.

Servicemembers will be able to provide their opinion on the services provided at the dining facilities and why they would go to places other than what's available on base.

"It's not a survey but the Food Service Office will take the inputs and try to implement new food items," said Sergeant Wolf.

The feedback will provide several avenues of improvement that the base community would like to see in reference to food, beverage and entertainment here.

All military members, and their taste buds, are welcome to attend.
