JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. –
Firefighters from the 11th Civil Engineer Squadron took to the streets of Joint Base Andrews, Md., Oct. 6-12 during National Fire Prevention Week to education members of Team Andrews about fire safety. This year's fire safety theme is 'Prevent Kitchen Fires.' The firefighter's hosted events across the installation to reach members of Team Andrews including a visit to a child development center; where the children not only learned about fire safety, but also meet Sparky the Fire Safety Dog. The week wrapped up with an open house at Fire Station 2 which included station tours, fire truck displays, a bounce house for the children, hamburgers, hot dogs and a special auto extrication demonstration.
