The Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) clinic offers easy enrollment for health care services to active duty, military families, retirees and TRICARE beneficiaries.
The clinic offers a wide variety of non-surgical services from optometry to pediatric to dental and behavioral health services.
"For almost every one of your [medical] needs, we're probably going to have what you're looking for, and the best thing is we can get you in and out quicker than almost anyone in the [National Capital Region]," said Air Force 1st Lt. Jeffrey A. Smith, group practice manager for the 579th Medical Group.
Eligible personnel can enroll by visiting the clinic patient administrative office or calling TRICARE north at 1-877-874-2273.
Enrolling with the JBAB clinic offers advantages over walk-in services.
If not enrolled, the clinic will see a patient, but preference is given to enrolled members and active duty military, Smith said.
When prospective patients come in to enroll or visit for the first time, they can sign up for relay health; an online platform that allows direct communication from patients to health care providers.
With the service, patients can renew prescriptions, get referrals, receive lab results and send general questions to their doctors. This helps cut down on wait time and appointments.
"We can save you a lot of time by utilizing our telehealth services," Smith said. "We use relay health all the time with our patients."
The clinic offers other advantages to patients looking for health care.
They have a 97 percent satisfaction rate, Smith explained. A 20 minute or less average wait time for prescriptions and 96 percent of the time they can get patients a same day appointment.
Those looking for health care in the National Capital Region, should look no further than the JBAB clinic, Smith added.
"We're making it easy for you," he said. "You can message your provider, you can book appointments online and you can have same day access. Why would you not want to enroll?"
