779th Medical Group Airman Leadership School Graduates

By Melanie Moore 79th Medical Wing

Senior Airman Mark Wesson, 779th Surgical Operations Squadron, received the Distinguished Graduate during Airman Leadership School Class Graduation on March 26 at Joint Base Andrews. The award is given to the person with the highest overall average in all graded areas, and demonstrated a high level of leadership skills.

Airman Leadership School (ALS) is a five-week professional military education course, which serves as the educational bedrock for new noncommissioned officers.

Students enrolled in the rigorous 24-day program learn the foundations of enlisted leadership and supervision and upon graduation become certified to rate and supervise Airmen.

During ALS, futures NCOs complete a curriculum, which mirrors a 365-day rating period of a junior enlisted Airman. Students create initial and midterm feedbacks, enlisted performance reports, awards packages, decoration packages - all simulating the process of supervising an Airman. The course is capped with a comprehensive multiple-choice exam.

Congratulations also goes to the following ALS graduates from the 79th Medical Wing:

Senior Airman Alexa Jewell, 779th Medical Support Squadron
Senior Airman Teehera Hayley, 779th Surgical Operations Squadron
Senior Airman Christopher Vore, 779th Medical Support Squadron
