JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md., –
Air Force District of Washington announced its implementation of the Employee Assistance Program May 18, 2015.
The AFDW Civilian Personnel Office introduced the program already offered by the Federal Occupational Health office. It's now available at no cost to civilian employees working on Joint Base Andrews and Joint Base Anacostia Bolling.
According to the FOH, employees are busy juggling work and family, and it is not unusual to encounter difficulties with stress, family, relationships, alcohol, work or other concerns, that may affect your overall quality of life.
"It provides employees with the support, tools and resources needed to effectively balance the competing demands of work and life, before personal concerns impact well-being and work performance," said Dominique Jeter, AFDW civilian personnel officer.
This resource allows employees to make confidential appointments to speak with licensed counselors for in-person, short-term counseling sessions regarding relationships, legal, financial, family, substance abuse and more.
"EAP also offers consultation and management coaching resources for managers, "Jeter said.
