11th Wing Public Affairs

Joint Base Andrews is scheduled to hold a free air show, featuring the Air Force's premier aerial demonstration team, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, Sept 19, 2015.

The 2015 Joint Base Andrews Air Show will commemorate the Air Force's 68th birthday, the 100th anniversary of the Naval Reserves, along with other major military milestones to be announced at a later date.

"The 2015 JBA Air Show marks the return of the largest military event in the Nation Capital Region and will culminate the Air Force's birthday celebration," said Col. Brad Hoagland, Joint Base Andrews and 11th Wing commander. "The Thunderbirds demonstrate the Air Force's air superiority."

The air show will also feature a myriad of attractions on the ground to include static displays of modern and vintage/legacy aircraft, and Joint Base Andrews assets such as the USAF Honor Guard and the USAF Band.

"The Air Show is Joint Base Andrews' opportunity to say thank you to our community, the state and the National Capital Region for all their incredible support, and we hope everyone will come out and enjoy the show."

The show will feature entertainment for all ages.

"We have been working with local community partners from Prince Georges' County and across the NCR. We are expecting an awe-inspiring experience for the public," said Maj. Marc Milligan, JBA Airshow 2015 director.

The air show will be open to all interested in attending. More details on aerial performances will be available at a later date.
