JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. –
Airman 1st Class Amber Marcum, a United States Air Force Honor Guard ceremonial guardsman, is the Warrior of the Week at Joint Base Andrews, Md., for the week of Oct. 29, 2014.
Marcum is being recognized for constantly displaying professionalism, striving for excellence and progressing in qualifications for the USAF Honor Guard Colors Flight.
"I really appreciate that my effort was recognized," Marcum said. "I couldn't have done it without help from my fellow Airmen."
She completed her NCO-of-the-Colors-Flight-for-Full-Honor-Funerals qualification and an hour long Personal Colors Bearer stand. She was congratulated by Patrick Kennedy, a former US Representative, during the National Alliance on Mental Illness convention for her representation of the USAF Honor Guard.
During the off-season, Marcum coordinated the Holiday Cheer for Children Foundation, attended the University of Maryland University College and achieved three qualifications towards becoming a fully qualified colors member.
