JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md., –
Lt. Gen. Darren W. McDew, 18th Air Force commander, hosted a commander's call for Airmen from the 89th Airlift Wing on Jan. 7.
During the commander's call, McDew took time to publicly recognize six Airmen from the 89th Aerial Port Squadron.
The Airmen were recognized for their actions while deployed, supporting the recovery efforts of a KC-135 Stratotanker crash near Chon-Aryk, Kyrgyzstan. The Airmen lead recovery efforts and helped drive aircraft recovery team members more than 700 miles to and from the crash site.
