Airmen hold DFPs 11th WG Airmen step up ATSO training
11th Wing Airmen participate in the Ability to Survive and Operate exercise.The ATSO exercise was comprised of several stages, including holding DFPs, applying self-aid buddy care, properly donning mission oriented protective posture gear, and identifying and cordoning off unexploded ordnances. The ATSO was designed to be as realistic as possible to increase quality of training.

Powerlifting 5th Annual JBA Powerlifting Meet
Weight lifters tested themselves in the 5th Annual Joint Base Andrews Powerlifting Meet held in the West Fitness Center here, Jan. 25, 2018. The competitors were split into male and female categories, with the competition open to military members, dependents and Department of Defense civilians assigned to the installation.The event tested competitors in squat, bench press and deadlift exercises.

Col. Teichert opens indoor- playground JBA children take off in new playground
Joint Base Andrews opened a new indoor playground Jan. 22, 2018 at the Community Commons. The playground has a small tree house, a two level gymnasium, a slide and a section for children under the age of one to play. The playground was created following a JBA community request.

Air Force Concert Band plays at Schlesinger Concert Hall. Air Force Concert Band performs Guest Artist Series
The U.S. Air Force Concert Band began their Guest Artist Series with a performance at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center in Alexandria, Va., Jan. 18, 2018. The event featured tubist Patrick Sheridan. The GAS is a community outreach program that honors veterans.

Donning MOPP gear 11th WG Airmen train during ATSO Rodeo
11th Wing Airmen took part in the Ability to Survive and Operate Rodeo full-spectrum readiness training here Jan. 18, 2018. The training is designed to enhance Airmen performance in emergency situations. The ATSO Rodeo was comprised of donning Mission-Oriented Protective Posture gear, performing self-aid buddy care, defensive fighting positions and pre- and post-chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense attack simulations.
