Brandywine DRMO site makes strides toward cleanup

Zachary Boss, an environmental field technician, uses a direct push injection rod to inject KB1 bacteria into the soil at the Brandywine work site eight miles from Andrews. This action is a result of the Andrews Environmental Restoration Program's aggressive cleanup strategy that utilizes bioremediation, which takes advantage of naturally occurring microbes to digest the contaminants and clean the 21-acre groundwater plume.
