JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. —
At approximately 12:50p.m. on July 28, a civilian died from injuries sustained during an isolated incident on the base campground. Emergency medical personnel responded immediately to the scene, but the individual succumbed to their injuries.
This is an isolated incident, and there is no active or ongoing threat to the installation or the surrounding community. Base operations were not affected and will continue as planned.
The identity of the deceased will not be released for at least 24 hours until after the notification of next of kin.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation by Air Force Office of Special Investigations. Further details will be released as they become available and appropriate.
