JBA Fisher House celebrates 30 years of support
October 4, 2024 — The Joint Base Andrews Fisher House commemorated its 30th anniversary with a celebration event at Joint Base Andrews, Md., Sept. 26, 2024. The event also honored the legacy of Zachary Fisher, founder of the Fisher House Foundation, on what would have been his birthday. Located within walking distance of the Malcolm Grow Medical Clinics and Surgery Center, the Fisher House offers care for families of active-duty members, veterans, and retirees who receive treatment at the base’s medical facilities or local hospitals. JBA raises awareness for child abuse prevention
April 25, 2018 — In addition to being National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month and Month of the Military Child, April is also National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the JBA Family Advocacy Program has been busy. To increase attention on the cause, the folks there have been planting pinwheel gardens around the base, teaching students in the child development centers about emotional awareness and providing information to service members and their families on the services that the FAP provides...
