Spring changes in the air: JBA says goodbye to 11th Wing, welcomes 316th

As the temperature begins to rise and flowers blossom to their full extent, it becomes evident seasonal change is in the air. With summer months approaching, military families globally gear up for permanent change of station season. This summer, families aren’t the only ones preparing for adjustments. Joint Base Andrews is going through a spring change of its own as it says goodbye to the prestigious 11th Wing and welcomes the 316th Wing.

JBA children take off in new playground

Joint Base Andrews opened a new indoor playground Jan. 22, 2018 at the Community Commons. The playground has a small tree house, a two level gymnasium, a slide and a section for children under the age of one to play. The playground was created following a JBA community request.

11th WG Airmen train during ATSO Rodeo

11th Wing Airmen took part in the Ability to Survive and Operate Rodeo full-spectrum readiness training here Jan. 18, 2018. The training is designed to enhance Airmen performance in emergency situations. The ATSO Rodeo was comprised of donning Mission-Oriented Protective Posture gear, performing self-aid buddy care, defensive fighting positions and pre- and post-chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense attack simulations.
